To bring IPSY’s “Trend Tracker” experience to life at Beautycon LA 2023—merging editorial design, digital engagement, and IRL feedback from beauty lovers to determine the next big aesthetic

Bold, interactive, and community-driven. The Trend Tracker Studio was a vibrant space where attendees could explore, express, and influence the future of beauty trends.

Refinery29 designed the space and tapped DS Event Haus to bring the Trend Tracker vision to life. We led scenic styling, fabrication, and on-site production to execute a three-part journey: guests voted on top TikTok trends at a custom ticker station, captured branded portraits at an interactive photo booth, and received curated IPSY boxes tied to the winning aesthetic. Every detail—from layout to lighting—was built for shareability and aligned with IPSY’s community-first ethos.

The activation welcomed thousands of attendees, generated extensive user-generated content across social platforms, and helped IPSY crown Clean Girl as the #1 trend of 2023, as announced in their official press release. The campaign extended beyond Beautycon, culminating in a viral content series and digital rollout shared with IPSY’s 9M+ social community. As featured on @IPSY’s Instagram, the activation became a cultural timestamp for the trends that shaped the year.
